graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1996 and started his surgical training at the Prince of Wales Hospital. He received his Fellowship of College of Surgeon of Hong Kong, Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh and Royal Australasian College of Surgeon in 2003 and received the Li-Shield Gold Medal Award during his exit examination. In year 2001-2002, he went overseas training on advanced laparoscopic and obesity surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital as surgical fellow. His main interests are advanced laparoscopic, bariatric and metabolic surgery. He pioneered the use of intragastric balloon, laparoscopic gastric banding, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric plication and bypass surgery to treat obesity and diabetes in Hong Kong and he is the official trainer of intragastric balloon in Asia-Pacific region. Currently, he is the Medical Director of Hong Kong Bariatric and Metabolic Institute, the Chief of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Center at Evangel Hospital and Consultant surgeon of Qualigenics Diabetes Medical Center of Hong Kong.
